AICC Annual Conference
Info on AICC conference 2024 will be available shortly
The second annual (and first in person!) conference for the All-Ireland Chromatin Consortium (AICC) was held in the UCD Conway Institute on May 24th, 2023. This event was organised by Dr. Eric Conway, UCD SBBS, and Dr. Elaine Dunleavy, University of Galway. This conference, on the topic of 'Chromatin and Transcription in Development and Disease', had over 60 attendees as it brought together researchers interested in chromatin biology and transcription across the island of Ireland.
Professor Haruhiko Koseki, from Japan’s renowned RIKEN research institute, delivered a keynote lecture on the latest developmental genetics research from his lab. Special guest Dr Sara Miller, editor of leading scientific journal, Molecular Cell also presented at the conference, advising on the process of publishing research in high-impact journals.
Dr Conway said “Initiatives like the AICC are critical for maintaining strong research connections across the island, especially in a post-Brexit Ireland. We are hopeful that this network will lead to future research funding, healthcare innovations and breakthroughs in the field of chromatin biology.”

Virtual conference
In December 2021 we hosted our first conference, originally planned for Belfast the event was moved online.

Despite the change in format we had a huge level of engagement and vibrant speaker and poster sessions.

We were delighted to welcome Eileen Furlong to give the keynote lecture at this inaugural event.
