Unravelling epigenetic Disruption in Childhood Blood Cancer

We are accepting applications for a 4-year PhD position supervised by Professor Jonathan Bond, UCD, fully funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI). The successful candidate will join the growing Childhood and Adolescent Leukaemia multidisciplinary research team based at Systems Biology Ireland, UCD.
The aim of this project is to use systems biology approaches to unravel the molecular effects of epigenetic gene mutations in childhood leukaemia, with the ultimate aim of finding better treatment approaches. The PhD researcher will mostly use molecular biology and epigenetic techniques and will work in close collaboration with a computational post-doctoral scientist who is also employed as part of the SFI project grant.
The student will be registered for a structured doctoral degree programme at UCD, during which they will complete several advanced PhD-level modules (30 ECTS). The scholarship funding includes a tax-free stipend at the standard SFI rate of €18,500 p.a.
